Hmm.. I was looking forward to getting this mag this weekend. If It wasn't for my stubborness against buying an asura from some random in Kamadan and for my idiot self being infatuated by its cuteness (yes, I said cuteness) I'd completely not buy this.

*sigh* oh well.

Dude, you may think you're funny and witty and that you've got a point but it's not funny, the wit is corny in a nasty, sarcastic sort of way and the point is about as sharp as a slipper... Unless you're interperating 'sharp as nasty.

No one's saying it's a disaster that we'll never live down. We're just saying that we're dissapointed.

I Haven't got the magazine yet, but will jus tto ge tthe mini pet,

However I'm deeply annoyed that there isn't a more extensive article,

I got the previous issue because anet said that there would be an article in it, and it amounted to 1 page, I expected this next issue to have one similar to the pc gamer in america.

I have two main problems with this,

First is that the magazines are published by the same company, therefore the people writing it must be privy to the same information, that means the information is being withheld by the uk magazine.

Second, Gaille Grey specifically said that we should not speculate on the information until we read the article, and that included us in Europe, She said we should all go read it. How can we do that when the publisher they use is suppressing it here, and god knows in how many other countries!

If i could get an america pc gamer i would, but i dont have access to credit cards or anything making that possible, None of the people stocking computer magazines stock that one here, and I incude WH Smiths, it just so happens that there is a uk version of PC Gamer, so I would imagine not many places will stock an american magazine of the same name.

This is totally farcical, Some information is given out but not much online because nobody is allowed to due to an exclusive deal with the publisher, so not even Anet can tell us what PC Gamer has, and then we are told to not comment on the information till we get all of it, but our publication outside of the uk dont give the full information, and fromt he sounds of it even less than whats online already!

I think Anet should at the closest possible time abolish the contract with the publisher and arrange one with a cmpany that respects all of Anet's customers, not just one portion of them. Anet should be able to ensure that all of us are able to get the same information roughly at the same time.

However this is presuming that there is another publisher that actually operates in these places!

That's exactly where I wanted to get. Of course I complained. I guarantee you, there's no better complainer than me. And got flamed. I even remember someone saying: "Is that even a country?"

A bit offensive in my point of view, but hey, what can you do, it's the internet, everyone's hiding behind their Pc monitor.

So I wanted to watch the reaction, now, from the other side, and I have to tell you, this amused me. When I was the one complaining it was a futile thing, it was just a magazine. Everyone was happy about it but - "Oh stop whining it's just a magazine!"
Now I'm the one saying that it's just a magazine, accept what you got from it no matter how simple it is (remember you paid for the magazine itself, not the GW article, so, as a customer, you got exactly what you paid for, plus a minipet that you'll probably sell for a fair amount, unless of course, that issue was more expensive because of the whole GW thing, which I doubt), and you come up with all sorts of theories about how it should have been written, how A.Net should change their partnerships. You even begged, lol. For a simple magazine.
That's what I meant when I told you people were acting a bit spoiled. When someone complains about something you ignore and/or criticize, but if it gets to you, it becomes worthy of attention, even when, after all, you're not really hurt.
Also, know that I'm not pointing any fingers.

Takuna your post reminded me of moments like when you're in PvP and you own everyone around you, and when everyone is lying dead on the ground someone calls you a noob, hehe.
Yes, it includes me. And? It doesn't invalidate what I said. The question is, would I've said this if I lived there? Maybe yes. I'm proud to have a mind of my own.

Instead what I got was a 4-page article that was 3/4 well published pictures that can be summarised in a handful of sentances.

Eye of the North will be coming out and is a high level expansion (duh...)

It will be in dungeons, but with some areas that 'feel' like ascalon.

You can have your character achievements recognised in a 'hall of monuments'

Guild Wars 2 will come out sometime next year. (again, duh...)

There will be different races.

That's it... No 13 pages, no information that's not currently available on the guildwars website. I mean, what gives? Why do we Europeans get screwed over with some pathetic cobbled together using largely vulger language mash-up that offers NOTHING over and above what was already in the public domain from the guildwars website. (I'm not even mentioning the fact that we have to wait an extra month to get an asura mini which is now valueless if we wanted to trade it, or nearly as common as a mini-pig.

What gives?

I'd still like to read the full 13-page article in PC Gamer but will now have to try and contact the publishers and pay for shipping etc. if they'll even agree to send me a copy by air-mail. Why the totally inconsistant approach?

Remind me never to spend £6 (that's about $12 US) on this worthless magazine again (that conveniently comes shrink-wrapped and boxed so you can't even have a flick through the content before you buy it).

So disappointed...

BdP
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!! Us Aussielanders got a pathetic 2 pages, over 60% of which was concept art easily found online for anyone that had eyes.

Anyway, regions outside of the US in general have been jipped, almost impossible to get PC Gamer here in Australia, too.

NOTE: I AM ANGRY AT THE MAGAZINE PUBLISHERS, NOT ANET/GAILE/NCSOFT/YOUR WAMMO.

I have to ask! Where you really expecting some hugely, amazing article about GW2 and GW:EOTN?

I expect the article has been ripped, and posted onto countless websites or forums around the world already. You could have just read it on there.

Your basically paying £3-6 for a mini pet, thats all.

In saying that, Im probably still going to buy it purely for the mini-pet. It just means one less Pint for the month.

Nope, always been £5.99, normal price for a PC & console games magazines really. Music magazine's prices are like that as well from 4.99-5.99, Mojo, Q etc. Don't get me starting on "rip off Britain".

nope, I don't think so, gaming magazines have always been ridiculously overpriced in the UK, I was dissapointed with the 4 pages, I was expecting something more but what can we expect in a nation infatuated with football and/or wow.
I wasn't aware the pound was that much stronger than the dollar but £5.99 sterling is indeed what It cost.
And on another note, that sure is one expensive pint.

Lol I get american comics over here, For one with cover price of $2.99 I pay £2.15 With the pound giving you 2 dollars at the moment this meens i pay the equivalent of $4.30 for it.

I don't think shipping costs come to that much for each comic
But then I remember a tv programe that set out to spend £1000 on clothes in the UK and the US, They bought a return ticket to New York, out of the £1000, went shopping for the exact same clothes they spent the £1000 on and got them all, and came back with change!

This shows you how much we are ripped off in the UK, when you can get thing cheaper and go on holiday at the same time for less money than it costs to get them over here.

Should we cmplain, well yes thats just our nature here, probably everywhere people comlain, but will we do anything about it

No way! When the rest of Europe was having revolutions at the end of the 1840's the British public organised one too, but it rained, so we all went home!

The security on the code of the CD is poor too, check the tape hasn't been removed before you buy.

The inside back page is funny too :-)

I must admit i thought that too, its on the back of a Loose CD in a thin cardboard like covering (probably not much thicker then paper) that secured by 2 tiny bits of tape (one at the bottom and one at the top)

K now we're getting somewhere. The fact that you were insulted (in a previous post yeah?) and the comment "is that even a country", well there are dumba$$es everywhere. If I had seen that thread then I would have been right behind you, however I didn't. As to what I paid for, actually all I was interested in was the artcile. I wouldn't usually buy that magazine because I know what it's like. I was just hoping beyond hope for a good article about the game I play. Oh well wishful thinking. Believe me if ANET's PR staff were here I would do more than beg........It's not as if PC Zone is one of many crap games magazines on sale, it's the only one (my opinion of course). Also understand I'd never criticise people for simply complaining. As I said above I didn't see the previous topic about this, enlighten me maybe? Finally, you did kinda point a finger no? You did say that UK is always spoiled with this kind of offers/promotions yet we always complain. Yes UK people are gonna complain about UK magazines. Bad Portuguese magazines on sale? That's your job to complain about.

I don't see how... In fact, I doubt anyone can, as the two seem a touch unrelated... Basically, you're calling me a noob? That sentence just boils down to an insult, plain and simple. There's not even any point behind it.

No, man, I'm not calling you a noob. -.- When you said, with all that rage, that I wasn't funny, you reminded me of those who die in pvp and say that the guy who killed them is a noob. May be an awkward analogy, but that's what it came to mind at the time, lol. Don't try to make it look like an insult because it wasn't.
I'm actually a pretty boring person. ^^
